SMC stopes every time on SEP Client

    hi,


    I am having a server 2003 SP2 as a SEP client ,

    i am facing issue that SMC service stopes and client showing offline in SEPM, when i start service from services it client comes online, but after some time it will again goes offile and service found stioed. also in SEPM client policy option is showing blank

    i want to resolve issue without restarting

    You can remove the client with clean wipe tool and reinstall it.

    no not yet try to repair or reinstall, coz its critial server and i dont' want any restart...

    is this client also a GUP are you on 12.1.4?

    The SMC.exe processes crashes on Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1 RU4 when Group Update Provider functionality is enabled

    what is the client version?

    do you see related entry in log?

    Check the eventviwer for any clues, does it stop after virus defs update or after a reboot? You can try updating this client to 12.1.4 or do a repair of SEP from add/remove programs, this does not require any reboot...

    Check the diskspace is avialable in C drive?

    Try to clean the defintion

    hi,

    i have update sylink file and now server is showing online, and virus definiation is also updateing

    now problem is in SEPM console View, Policy tab is showing blank for this server

    is there any solution..for same

    You can disable Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration from within the Server Manager:

    1. Open the Server Manager
    2. Highlight Server Manager in the left-pane at the top
    3. In the right-pane, under Security Information, click Configure IE ESC
    4. Turn the Administrators & Users options Off
    5. Click OK
    and
     
    Turn off Enhance Security on the machine
     
    Home, Monitors, and Reports tabs are blank in the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager Remote Console

    Do you have check manually it's policy no same or not ?

    Try to remove that client on SEPM console and wait next heart beat ,Client will be reapper in SEPM console.
