This issue is specific to Lenovo Thinkpad Notebooks. Initial install of Symantec Endpoint Protection (MR2 or MR2-MP1) client with all its components, can produce "MS visual C++ runtime library: runtime error! C:\.. this application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way."
Solution:
Download the latest fingerprint software from Lenovo site http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/documen... & update. This will resolve the issue.

Hi,
Please check the features of endpoint that you are trying to install on the Laptop's having XP operating system. Try installing only Antivirus and Antispyware first then install the PTP component and then the NTP. This will help us in narrowing on the exact reason which is causing the error.
It would be great if you could give us the following information as well.
