    Hi,

We see so many Smcgui.exe process in the task manager of the terminal server.

I thought this is caused by every user who is logged into the terminal server. I tried to disable the icon and the client from Clients -> Policies -> Location Specific Settings -> Customize

But this didn't stop having so many Smcgui.exe processes.

What can I do for this?

    Rafeeq,

I've seen this document before but I cannot find what's described in the appendix 4 of this document:

    3 Browse to HKLM\SOFTWARE\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\SMC
4 Find the entry LaunchSmcGui and change it from DWORD 1 to DWORD 0

There is no key called LaunchSmcGu

    Doesn't this document apply to RU6 MP1 ?

You need to manualy create that key name it LaunchSmcGui, and set the value as 1.

Rafeeq is correct, though you will want to set the value to 0 instead of 1. Having it as 0 will prevent the process from launching in each session that is opened.
