    Hi everyoone,

    PF the below Topology information & let me know how many SMGs are required for my topology.

    Can I install the Single licnese file for 2 different locations in single domain.Do share the datasheet or diffrences for the Temporary license & perpetual license details of SMG.

    Please share the comparisons for Symantec mail security for Exchange & Symantec Messaging Gateway products.

    Topology Information::

    We have total 3 locations.1)Hyderabad 2)Chennai 3)Clearwater

    Hyderabad to Chennai: one Vpn tunnel

    Chennai to Us: one vpn tunnel

    Us to Hyderabad: one vpn tunnel

    -How many locations are the Exchange servers located in?

    Ans: 2 locations. 1) US> a) NEXTEMAIL01>Exchange 2010(Mailbox, ClientAccess, UnifiedMessaging, HubTransport)

    b) NEXTEXMAIL02>Exchange 2013(ClientAccess)

    c) NEXTEXMAIL01>Exchange 2013(Mailbox)

    2) INDIA:: a)NEXTINDEMAIL01>Exchange 2013(Mailbox)

    b)NEXTINDEMAIL02>Exchange 2013(ClientAccess)

    c) NEXTINDEXDAG01>Exchange 2013 (Mailbox,DAG)
    -All of them are part of the same domain, aren't they?

    Ans: Yes. We have single domain & its: NEXTSPHERE.COM. All the Exchange servers (6Nos) are in the same domain.
    -How many SMG Control center and scanners are installed in each location?

    Ans: Not yet installed.
    -Are the SMGs behind a firewall?

    Ans: No.
    -How are the Exchange servers communicating and replicating between them?

    Ans:

    Exchange 2010 (Nextemail01)

    Exchange 2013 (Exchange 2013>Hyderabad)

    Exchange 2013 (Exchange 2013>US)

    NEXTINDEXDAG01 will control the replications between the Mailbox servers.

    Cluster nodes: NEXTINDEXDAG01, NEXTINDEMAIL01, NEXTEXMAIL01

    2nos CAS servers (NEXTINDEMAIL02, NEXTEXMAIL02) is used for users to connect their mail boxes.
    -Is there a good bandwidth between the different locations?

    Ans:Yes.

    The product is licensed per user, so the same license file would be used on all appliances.

    The current mx record shows 3 MTAs, it looks like you can just place SMG scanners on each of those IPs, and then have a control center only appliance to manage them.

    The temp license for SMG will not allow you to use the probe account feature nor the customer specuific spam feature.

    The SMSMSE product is installe don the Exchange server, the Messaging Gateway is a seperate appliance.
