Hi, just wondering why SMG is so active. Within an ESXi environment this has an impact on other vServers on same host. It seems to be constantly busy (see enclosed) no matter time of day. I can throttle it using ESXi but wonder if that would have any impact / advisable etc ? Or, is there a way to quieten it down a bit ! iostat shows it's running at 20% all the time & conduit appears to be the problem.

Anyone ? Have installed this now on 3 vServers and exactly the same on each. Have throttled them to 1Ghz max and that seems to fix it and doesn't seem to have any effect on processing.

What you described is expected behavior. Conduit is downloading new spam definitions on average every 5 minutes, and checks for updates every minute. This is kind of required to be effective at blocking spam.

OK, thanks - it's certainly effective at doing that (roughly saving 70% throughput on crap to client !)
