  • 1.  SMG to replace MS Exchange Edge server

    We want to have the Edge roles played by a virtual Exchange 2013 server replaced by a physical SMG.

    The goal is to remove the virtual devices from the DMZ and use only hardware appliances, since the virtual SMG appliances will also be replaced we can spare the server hardware by using the SMG for edge role.

    Is that possible? Are there limitations or specific rules/methods to follow to achieve the expected results?

    Hi,

    Yes is possible. SMGs main goal is to transport mails and filter spam etc.

    Limitations - yes, some rules, methods work in a different way but almost everything is possible.
