  • 1.  SMP 2008 Server - Site Server 2012 R2 Compatibility ?

    Hopefully this is an easy answer.  

    We are running 7.6 SMP on Windows Server 2008 SP2 Standard and the Site Servers are the same.  We are standing up another Site Server and the question is can we stand up the OS as Windows Server 2012 R2 and will there be any compatibility issues between the SMP?  I assume not, but I must ask.

    According to support matrix, there is no restrictions to use Site Server on Windows 2012 R2 x64 for 7.6 release, even if SMP is running on Windows 2008 R2 SP1 x64 or Windows 2012 R2 x64

    Hi Igor, from the Matrix it is not clear that the different OS's are compatable.  But thank you.

    If you see OS Support matrix where:

    • NS is supported to run on Windows 2008 R2 SP1 x64 or Windows 2012 R2 x64
    • Site Server is supported to run on Windows....

    Just make sure that Support Matrix contains approved version of OS for NS or SIte Server and use this configuration, since if there will be any compatibilities problems, then matrix should mention about this.
