  • 1.  SMP 7.1 SQL Collation Requirements?

    Posted Mar 10, 2011 05:50 PM

Our SQL Server's default server collation is SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS.

    Can I use the SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS?

The ITMS Platform Support Matix published when 7.1 went live doesn't list that collation, or any collation starting with SQL_Latin1, just plain ole' Latin1.

    Latin1_General_BIN

    Latin1_General_BIN2

    Latin1_General_CI_AI

    Latin1_General_CI_AS

    Latin1_General_CS_AI

    Latin1_General_CS_AS

Can other's check the properties in SQL Management Studio on their Symantec_CMDB and post what their current database collation is?

    Thanks!

This is basically a typographical error.  SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS is what SQL Studio will show, and is the proper name, and it's what you can use.  Do not change collation types if you are upgrading from SMP 7.0 to SMP 7.1, as this is not supported.

I always use SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CS_AS and never had a problem.
