  • 1.  SMP 7.5 SP1 support for SQL 2012 SP2

    Posted Oct 14, 2014 12:16 PM

My DBA's are asking if they can update the SMP database to 2012 SP2. We're currently running on SQL 2012, platform is at 7.5 SP1 HF3.

    Thanks,

    Jason

    Hi!

Support matrix shows that 7.5 SP1 supports SQL 2012 SP1 (ITMS Platform Support Matrix |Sep 2014|)

Looks like for now you have to use only SQL Server 2012 SP1 for 7.5 SP1 (HFx) release.

If support matrix doesn't contain information that 7.5 SP1 release supports SQL 2012 SP2, then it means that SP2 wasn't certified and isn't officially supported for now, within 7.5 SP1 release.

    Thanks,

    IP.

Yeah I checked out the support matrix before posting and didn't see SP2 support yet but I had to do my due dilligence for the DBA's are now going to be on my back every month until it's supported.

    Thanks,

Here is a thread about SQL 2014 support in next release https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/ru/forums/sql-server-2014-support and I think SQL 2012 SP2 will be supported as well.
