SMP Agent Maintenance

I was curious what other people due to maintain the health of their SMP agents? Meaning we find that our agents are sometimes sitting in a state of 'Stop Pending' (via. RAAD) or the Last Check In time of an agent is null in the DB, when the device can be pinged.

I did create GPO which starts the SMP service if it is stopped, and I noticed that has a helped a lot... I was just curious what other people did though. Thanks!

I often use DS 6.9 to do a clean uninstall and reinstall of the 7.1 agent if I see a problem, but it's quite rare.

If you don't have DS 6x you could try Real Time System Manager to do the same thing.
