I know that ServiceDesk checks the SMP for valid ServiceDesk licensing on a regular basis.  How regularly?

I'm trying to understand the impact on ServiceDesk of having an outage on the SMP server due to upgrades, maintenance etc.

How long will ServiceDesk run without being able to validate its licensing?

Licensing information is cached for approximately 20 minutes. Restarting server extensions automatically purges the cache (basically because on restart, SE reloads the licensing plugins again). If the SMP were to go down, you should still be able to work for at least that long.

    Thanks reecardo.

20 minutes seems quite short - especially for any kind of SMP upgrade.  Also, given SMP is inherently not load balancable I can see all sorts of issues for a 24x7 support team trying to use ServiceDesk during an outage of the SMP.

Is there any way to change that frequency?

Not at this moment, no. It can't be configured.
