Under manage computers I'm trying to add cusotm search criteria so I can search for machines based on Mac address and model. Under the search box I click add search criteria and then add custom criteria. I've found the correct dataclasses (manfacturer) and (Aex AC TCPIP) and then selected model and MAC address under columns. I click ok. The search criteria shows up for one search, but the next time I go and do a search they're gone. So I have to go in a re-add them again. Is there any way to ensure they always stay up as search criteria?

There's a floppy disk icon that lets you save the search.  Then, later, when you click the Save button, you can pull up the saved search.  Or, if when saving, you leave the checkbox checked, it will be linked for you under the Saved searches pane in the Computers view.  Have you tried this?

Yes I did save it so it shows up on the left under saved searches. I can access that search, but it will only search the specic model I was searching which I expected it to do. I'd like to be able to search for other models and various mac address. The option still doesn't show up under search box even after saving one of the searches.

I see what you are looking at. When you add custom search criteria, those items are not staying in the drop-down from session to session. As soon as you refresh the page the custom criteria you selected is not kept in the list.

After submitting a case with Symantec it looks like the drop down menu is static and can not be edited. The only way is as suggest above by creating a saved search. If I add custo criteria and save the search it will save it on the lef tunder saved searches. It also saves the search results, however you can delete the search criteria you typed in and type in whatever you're searching for. This will change the search results. To fix this I've created a couple of saved searchs, one for MAC address and one for Model. End users just have to click on those, delete the search information and enter the information they're searching for.
