This issue has been solved. See solution.

Hi guys!

I have a simple question. Can I install locally the SMS for Exchange and then, from another server with SMS installed manage it? All this without using the remote installation.

Thx!!

Yes, if you run the install on a computer without Exchange installed, it will just install the console. Then you can tell it the IP or host name of the server and manage it through that console. Make sure that your user is a member of the SMSMSE Admins security group in Active Directory.

Davis, what happend if both servers have Exchange 2007 installed? It will be the same way?

Manualy install both servers and then, choose one to deploy de changes and policies of all of them.

That is certainly an option. You would just create a server group in the SMSMSE console and add both to the group. This way any settings changes will be deployed to both.
