Good Morning,
We having been running SMS for SMTP 5.x since it was released.  The last week or so I have noticed that Compliance filtering for attachments has not been working correctly.  Currently we have a rule set up to look at attachments.  If they match an attachment list, then modify the subject and also send the sender a message saying we don't allow these types of files.  I'm seeing that this rule is not working all of the time.  I have run test files through the scanner and they are being scanned but the Compliance filter rule doesn't seem to be working on the e-mail.  The filter that is not working has to do with Multimedia files.  I have another one for Executables and it is working fine.

I recreated the rule on Friday and it appeared to help a little, but today, it's not working at all.

Any ideas would be appreciated!!!

Doug

Hello mrmuggyd, - What type

Hello mrmuggyd,

- What type of multimedia files are not detected by the Policy ? (.wmv, .avi... etc)
- Are these emails containing the multimedia files sent from public email accounts ? (gmail, hotmail.. etc)
- Could you post a sample envelope ?

Cheers

Is the policy applied to all

Is the policy applied to all or just to a certain groups. And is the sender domain is included in the exception?
