SMSDOM & Domino 8.5 Issue?

Hi,
We have been encountering the following issue:
SMSDOM hangs during a scan on a nightly basis. This prevents mail from routing and requires a server reboot to resolve. Has anyone encountered this before? Any suggestions on an approach to this?

Hi,
could you please let me know which version of SMSDOM are you running? If it's earlier than 8.0, I would first suggest to upgrade to it, as it provides more support for Domino 8.5.
Also, in order to approach the problem, you could look at the Domino console logs around the time of the hang, and check for errors logged by SMSDOM.

Same problem with 8.0.1.46
We have the same problem. Every morning the processing of the mail has stopped... We have to restart the domino 8.5 Server to start working again...
Already tired of troubleshooting Symantec issues.......

I would look at taking a different approach as this could be as much Windows/Domino related as it could be with SMSDOM.
Take a look a the following document to see if it describes what you are running into.
