SMSME 5.0 - Scanning zip attachments for disallowed file types?

We are running SMSME 5.0 on our Exchange 2003 server and I cannot seem to find any option to scan zip attachments for disallowed file types (*.exe, *.bat, etc). We have Content Filtering rules configured to block undesired attachment file types but I see in the SMSME manual that it does not scan attached zip files:

Note: The content filtering engine does not evaluate any file extension names
that are inside the outer-most attachment, for example, the compressed files in
    a .zip file.

Can scanning of zip files for specific file types (and filtering the disallowed ones) be accomplished via the "File Filtering Rules"?

Just got word back from Symantec Japan's support people that SMSME 5.0 doesn't support detecting and quarantining of disallowed file types in attached zip files. Can anyone tell me if SMSME 6.0 has this functionality? And if not, what alternatives are there that will support this (Antigen?). Thanks.
