Can anyone tell me whether Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1.6 is supposed to be compatible with Symantec Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange 6.5.2?  We're running Exchange 2010 where one of the admins upgraded one of our mail servers from SEP 11 to 12 after which a handful of SAVFMS* processes started constantly using more CPU than normal.  They also re-entered the same list of exclusions which was in SEP 11 but high CPU usage persists.  Are there perhaps additional exclusions for Exchange that are required for SEP 12?

Yes...I've seen this article which pointed me to exclusions for Exchange 2016.  However, we upgraded SEP and NOT Exchange so you'd think the exclusions we used in SEP 11 would still be applicable in SEP 12.

Anyway, due to this issue, our Exchange admin had to migrate users to our 2nd server (in a DAGS) which is still running SEP 11 because if not, we couldn't view our Sent messages.  I even had an issue myself in my Outlook 2013 whereby a message I had replied to didn't remove the DRAFT tag until I was redirected to our 2nd mail server.

    Hi Clint,

It is compatible. Do you have it installed on a drive other then C:\? What version of SAVMSE do you have installed? 11.x is unsupported and does not provide you with any real protection because the definitions no loger update.
