SMTP server cannot create a file in the queue directory

Hi Group,
 
New scanner setup and new problem, no luck searching on the web or Symantec, any help would be great.

I have the same problem
I install the SMS version 5.0.1 and the latest path and I continue to have this error:

I too am experiencing this problem?  Can anyone provide any insight?

For what it's worth, I went through my logs and saw that a dll (MTA-something-or-other, don't recall) failed to register during the install, and couldn't be registered via regsvr32.  It occurred to me that the SMTP gateway software might not like the fact that I was trying to install it on a Server 2003 x64 platform.  So I blew away the machine and rebuilt it as a 2003 32bit server (hurray VMWare!) and reinstalled.  All is working now.

So the lesson here is Symantec's SMTP Mail Security 5.0.1 doesn't work on x64 servers.
