SNAC Enforcer - software only ?
Updated: 21 May 2010 | 3 comments
Hi,
I have purchased SNAC Essentials and based on the data sheet I thought I could build my own LAN enforcer using RedHat rather than buy a hardware appliance. I had put aside a couple of HP DL360s for this purpose.
I now cannot find any information on how to do this, and in the installation guide there is a comment "Earlier versions of Symantec Enforcer that were provided as software only are also not supported".
So is there now no option to build your own enforcer and you must use a hardware appliance ?
If this is the case I don't have budget until July to buy more hardware and may have to implement using DHCP as an interim measure. I hope for things like printers I can configure their ports to be non-NAC.
Thanks
Mick

I would suggest you to call
I would suggest you to call Symantec once to confirm about the Enforcer ISO image.

Enforcer ISO download
When u buying an Enforcer Apliance U receive a printable license with number that can be used to download newer versions of the software...
when U bought only a SNAC U probably can use Enforcers but before it just call a symantec support or ask support via mysupport.symantec.com hos to download enforcer iso, as I know U dont have to buy hardware appliance, its your choice if U virtualize enforcer or not (LAN Enf is supported virtualized as i know and working perfectly good on vmware ESX for example)

Enforcer ISO download - update
and if U receive correct number, it will be probably some temporary number for download only, it will be downloaded from this:
https://fileconnect.symantec.com
Enforcers in current license programs are for free and U always can say that U use your own HW for enforcers and Symantec have to give U number/possibility to download Enforcer ISO CD :)
