  • 1.  snapshot.xml not being recreated on package server

    Posted Nov 19, 2013 07:17 PM

    Hi,

    I followed HOWTO83906, Section 3 (Manual Synchronization), From the Package Servers to try and fix an issue with the snapshot.xml files not being recreated.

    I deleted the snapshot.xml files on the Package Server and then did a refresh. Most of the snapshot.xml files are not being regenerated. I have not deleted them from the NS. Right now this new Package Server is the only one having problems. The other site servers appear to be fine. Sorry for being vague. I will post more information when I have it.

    Any initial ideas?

    Please provide the following:

    1.  SMA & PSA version?

    2.  SMP version including any rollups?

    3.  Verbose SMA logs from the PS containing ten minutes worth of data after the SMA service has been restarted.

    On Site Server:

    SMA--->7.1.15400.8400

    PSA--->7.1.15400

    I know your looking for some logs and I am checking them to see if there anything in there worth while. What I am noticing is new packages / patches are replicating to this server. Just the old guid folders are still sitting there with a missing snapshot.xml. Not sure why they are not regenerating. The NS is 7.1 SP2 MP1, no rollups.

    I believe that if you delete an old package file from a currently working PS, that PS will most likely experince the issue that the new PS is having.

    I think it may be due to the NSOwnerGuid no longer being correct for the old packages.

    It may also be worth reviewing the 7.1.2 MP1.1 v7RU Release Notes to see if any of the RU's have addressed this type of issue, as I do know that a number of PS related issues have been fixed by certain RU's.
