Software Catalog Data Provider update

Created: 19 Dec 2012 | 4 comments

When does the Software Catalog Data Provider get updated with new software resource Metadata? I have Cold Fusion 9 and 10 installed and inventoried in the environment, but the Data Provider Summary does not show these products as being available , it only goes up to version 8. How often does Symantec get new software titles into the catalog?

You can find the methods for populating the catalog here: http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO62704

Thank you for the comment. I was looking more specifically at the Data Provider option. By default there is a Data Provider that is installed by Symantec. I was understanding that Symantec had purchased or partners with a software catalog Data Provider. There appears to be about 158,000 + software catalog entries in the summary. I was looking for how often does the Data Provider update the entries, as I was not seeing several versions of the Adobe ColdFusion product listed in the summary. Is the Software Catalog Data Provider supplied with the solution being updated with new titles and if so how?

Thanks,
