  • 1.  Software Portal Agent Install

    The software portal agent keeps trying to install over and over even though it is already installed. Is there a collection... sorry Filter... already created to show what machines have the software portal agent installed already?

     

    I had to create a custom deployment job for the agent because the latest update tries to run with user rights but users don't have rights to install software in my environment. I followed this article for a work around:

    I'm wondering too if there's any way to tell from the NS if the Software portal has been installed on a PC. It doesn't show up as a separate plug-in in AeX_AC_Client_Agent or anywhere else that I can tell.

    I could use the success of the Task but that's not fail safe if the machine gets reimaged.

    The portal element of the SWD agent is only a user entry in the menu that directs user to the NS portal, and then makes a single call to the agent to request client policy.

    It leaves outside the agent, so it couldn't be reported there.
