Hello,

I am working on setting up our software portal. I installed the software portal on my computer for testing (activated the softwareportal policy). I have IE and Google chrome installed on my PC. When I clicked on the software portal icon, it was opened in google chrome. I thought uninstalling chrome would make Software portal open in IE. I uninstalled chrome and now software portal does not open. When I  clicked on icon, nothing happens.

How do i reset/reinstall the software portal on my computer? If users have Chrome/Mozilla installed, how do I set the software portal to open by default with IE?

anyone had this problem or not? I can access the software portal by pasting the portal link directly in IE.

So my temporary solution for now is adding the link to IE's favorites list and accessing the portal this way.

How would we configure to run the software portal to run with a certain browser?

thank for the short-cut idea, I did not think about that. and yes the shortcut also worked. But I would also like to find out how to solve this issue if I ever I have the same issue on my users computers

thank you for your reply.

In the solution you said to update the key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\http\shell\open\command but actually I cannot find the key http folder ( other files are htm, html,htt etc)

my system is Windows 7 x64

I can see this key on all of my windows 7 machines (as x64 as x86), if you don't see it please refer the link to microsoft forum:
