I'm interested in the license count displayed in the SMP 7.1 console for a managed software product. More specifically, how it is calculated. What I'd like to do is use this number in a workflow to determine if there are licenses available before servicing a software request.
I'm assuming it's a count of the records displayed in the Computers with software installed grid - so that's probably the query I'm after.
Looking in the CMDB I've found the Inv_SoftwareProductFilter table, which has the SQLQueryFilter field to give me the results I see for the Identify Inventory tab when editing a software product, however this doesn't appear to be what I'm looking for as it could include things like installed updates in addition to the product itself (so a count of all the Installs here would be inaccurate).
Can anyone please provide assistance as to the query used to calculate the license number seen when selecting a managed software item? ...or at least a prod in the right direction. :)
