What method are people using to remove software from users desktops.  We were planning on having an Uninstall MSD but the problem with that is that the uninstall policy will stay active on the client interface and clutter everything up.  I looked at doing it with tasks but the problem there is if the machine is off when the LAN Admin tries it will fail and they would have to monitor the status of the machine.

PS - I am currently trying to get away with two filters an "Authorized" and a "Remove" tied to and "Install" and "Uninstall" MSD policy.  I have been avoiding having an "Installed" filter so that I can keep inventory out of the equation.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
