We are using Symantec Management Console 7. I am trying to uninstall the Software Update plug-in on our windows xp pro computers. There are 26 computers that the uninstall keeps failing. I know the computers are active and I have tried to run the uninstall from the symantec management agent on the computers.   The only thing close that I can find on this is Knowledge Base article 18829. Has any one else ruun across this problem? Or, does anyone have suggestion as to how to remove the agents?

I have attached a screen shot of the Symantec Management Agent.

    Thank you,

    Hi There,

Please open the "Run history" and see what exit code you get.
Send this to us, maybe it helps.

1605 - This action is only valid for products that are currently installed. This suggests the filter is incorrect, you may wish to contact support. I have seen a couple of articles in regards to incorrect filters that had to be updated via an .xml import.

    Error Codes Windows Installer.

A bit more perplexing is Windows Installer Error Messages. 1605  indicates out of disk space.

I doubt that is your issue, as the logs indicate a successful run.
