SOHO DHCP Router gets flooded - Need suggestions on hardware

I have a unique implementation of GSS in a mobile lab.  We carry in a GIG switch HP Procurve 1810G-24 and a SOHO router (used only for DHCP). We are are not typically connected to an outside network.  We need to ghost 20-50 machines at once with GSS and our image is almost 50GB (fast compression).  Due to some hardware configs, we are nearly forced to use DOS.  When we do, we frequently find that ghost does not play well with the router in that it is unable to obtain a DHCP addy.

We have checked all the typical issues like lease number etc.  Some routers play, some don't.  we have tried the swith to extend the timeout for the DHCP request too and that has helped on two ocasions.

We also have machines start to fail about 30 minutes in.  I assume this is the network getting saturated.  I have not tried throttling the task but will be doing that.

Does anyone have recommended hardware that they are using and seems solid.  I have heard the Apple Airport does well oddly enough.  We may resort to bringing a server to act as a DHCP server.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Regards

    Ken

If you are using multicast, have you ensured that IGMP snooping is enabled on your switch?  If it is not, then it is normal for transfers to fail after a few minutes.
