    Posted Dec 26, 2012 01:45 PM

    Hello again,

I am trying to implement a central location to store AV definitions for SAVFL 1.0.14 so I do not have to update each machine individually. Is there a way to do this or am i stuck just doing it machine by machine. I have looked into the topic and all i see is mention about setting up a LUA but no where goes into detail about how to do it.

    Thank you

    Hello,

Depending on the number of SAVFL clients in your organization, you may wish to install an internal LUA 2.x server on your network to download the latest Linux AV definitions for them once, and prevent a lot of duplicate bandwidth-consuming downloads.

    Hi Douglas,

Thumbs up to the advice, above!

This article will describe how to direct those SAVFL clients toward a central LUA Distribution Center within your environment:

How to Install SAV for Linux (SAVFL) and Update It Using LUA 2.x (2.3.0.71)
    https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/articles/how-install-sav-linux-savfl-and-update-it-using-lua-2x-23071

There's a copy of LUA that comes with SEP (on the product DVD's). If you need a copy of LUA 2.3.2 (always use the latest release) just contact Technical Support.

How to obtain the latest version of Symantec LiveUpdate Administrator (LUA) 2.x

Hope this helps!  Please do keep this thread up-to-date with your progress!

    Mick

Can someone help me with what all dependencies the unix.sh file has before it can run? I am having to update machines manually and so far none have all of them. Thank you for all the advice so far.
