I seem to run in to this issue a lot, so I wanted to see if anyone had some more information on what I'm doing wrong, or a better explanation.
These patch questions relate strictly to Microsoft security updates:
Basically, some bulletins either don't include all updates, or some updates show they are not applicable to some machines when Windows Updates disagrees. The latest example is MS14-024. The first update on the list (KB2596804) according to https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/security/ms14-024.aspx is not even included in the patches that Altiris downloaded. I checked my Import Patch Data task for Office 2007 items I may have left unchecked but didn't find any. We had a similar issue last month where the update WAS downloaded, but not applicable. Windows Update showed it to be applicable.
I either need a way to manually push these updates out, or have a legitimate reason. Management is wondering why Altiris would show 100% patched even though there are securuty updates pending in windows update.
