i have sep on my pc only. it started malfuctioning since a couple of weeks.

icon frequently doesnt appear in taskbar.

on trying to start the client it gives an error "Symantec Endpoint Protection cannot open because some Symantec Services are stopped. Restart the Symantec services, and then open Symantec Endpoint Protection."

after restarting the services SNAC and smcservice from task manager the client opens but smcservices keeps on stopping every 5 minutes.

the client shows several errors which arent fixed by the "fix all" button and two empty boxes i cant access even as administrator. see the attachments.

i also wanted to know when the antivirus will expire but i cant find any info in the client or in program files

Did you try repair sep client ?

i also wanted to know when the antivirus will expire but i cant find any info in the client or in program files

It's managed client or unmanaged client ?

In managed client you can FIND SEPM license expire date.

In Unmanaged clients To enable the submission of reputation data from an unmanaged client, you must install a paid license on the client.

    Licensing an unmanaged client

    http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO55368

If license file is installed then you can open .slf file to check the license status

    it is unmanaged client

when i try to repair through Add/remove programs it gets stuck at "please wait while windows is configuring sep" and the time remaining keeps on increasing without any change in progress bar
