    Hi All,

    Good Day!

    We have SMG as our mail gateway. I have received a complaint that the user is receiving spam mails from googlegroups email IDs. The user is getting more than 200 mails every day from IDs with domain googlegroups.com.

    I took the sender mail IDs and added them to Bad Sender group in SMG. However, the user again complained that the spam mails are still being received.

    I checked the logs with the sender ID and could not find any hits on the SMG. However, when I checked with the subject I see that the sender mail ID is being modified. 

    For example I add the ID abcd@googlegroups.com in to bad senders list, but when i check the logs I cannot find any log for this ID. When I filter the logs with subject I get the sender mail ID like abcd+bncbc3kd2n@googlegroups.com. Similar logs are there for other subjects as well.

    Now I have added the googlegroups.com domain itself in to bad senders list. I need to observe the same and see if the spam mails are still being received.

    Also, according the user, he has not subscribed to the group and he has sent mails to abcd+unsubscribe@googlegroups.com to unsubscribe from the group if he has been added by mistake.

    Please suggest if there is any other mechanism in SMG that I can use to successfully block such spam.
