SPC Integration error with SEPM 12.1.5

    Hello all, Prior to upgrading to SEPM 12.1.5 one of my customer was running SPC in their envoirement that was managing 18 diffrent SEPM's in diffrent regions. Now when they upgraded SEPM's to 12.1.5 then after the upgrade the information from SEPM's are not being displayed in the SPC console and dashobards are not working.

    I have already removed all the SEPM's from SPC and re-added them but the same problem persists. Is there any compatibility issue between SEPM 12.1.5 and SPC 3.0 Enterprise? would appreciste if any 1 can shed some light on it. Thanks

    Symantec Protection Center 1 is removed for Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1.5. You can still integrate Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager with Symantec Protection Center 2

    Note:

    Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1.5 is the last release update to support Symantec Protection Center 2.0

    James thanks for your reply. Please let me put it this way the version of SEPM is 12.1.5 and version of SPC that is working as a standalone machine is SPC 3.0 . Prior to upgrading 18 diffrent SEPM's they were integrated with SPC 3.0 and information was propertly displayed in the SPC dashboards and console but when SEPM's were upgraded to 12.1.5 this no longer works

    As per above it's not supported SPC 3.0 only SPC 2.0 are supported but you can contect to symantec support for more info.

    So James what I have understood please correct my if I am wrong

    1. SPC 3.0 or SPC 4.0 does not supports SEPM 12.1.5 ( It only supports SPC 2.0 ) ?

    2. Earlier version of SEPM i.e 12.1.4 etc do support SPC 2.0,3.0 and 4.0 ? becuase it was working fine earlier when SEPM wasn't upgraded.

    Am i right in this understading of it  ? Regards

    As per articles it's only mention SPC 2.0 and not other version.

    Symantec Protection Center 1 is removed for Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1.5. You can still integrate Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager with Symantec Protection Center 2, but the feature is no longer tested or available for download.

    3.0/4.0 should work just fine with 12.1.5

    Brian thanks for your reply but James Statement about the article mentioning only SPC 2.0 and no other version is confusing me a bit.

    James could you please share me with an article or steps that outlines the prereqs or steps for integrating SEPM with SPC ?  Regards

    Hello all . Here is the status update

    Prior to upgrading 15 SEPM's to 12.1.5 they were all integrated fine with SPC 2.0 all the information from all SEPM's were properly showing in the SPC Dashboards.

    So just for the testing purposes only three SEPM's were initially upgraded to the version 12.1.5 but as a result now no information is being displayed in the SPC from all of SEPM's including those that were running earlier version.

    We have also tried to remove the SEPM's from SPC and re-add them but the same thing no information is showing.

    please tell me what the problem is and how can I troubleshoot/fix it.

    The problem is that no information is being returned from SEPM's and being displayed on SPC dashboards.

    Though I can log into individually in each SEPM's in SEPM but the information is not being returned from SEPM's.

    SSO is also working in SPC for SEPM's but for some reasons SPC is not fetching the information from SEPM's and displaying it in the dashboard.

    port 8443-8445 is also opened . Are there any specific logs in SPC which I can look to troubleshoot this ? Thanks

    Hi,

    It seems permission related issue. Make sure necessary permission are in place.

    Make sure your Protection Center user account has permission for managing supported products. By default, it uses predefined SPC_Admin account with full rights.

    Hello  Chetan Savade thanks for your reply but permission are not the problem here let me rephrase it again.

    Initially prior to upgrading SEPM's to 12.1.5 everything was working fine data was being fetched from SEPM's and displaying in the SPC dashboards and console reports were also working fine.

    But when we upgraded SEPM's to 12.1.5 this issue occured that now no data is being feteched from SEPM's and displayed in SPC console everthing is displaying blank same is with reports.

    But regardless of this SSO  and embedded cosnole is still working fine for all SEPM's in SPC but its just that no data is being fetched from SEPM's and displayed in the SPC nor any reports they are blank.

    I would really appreciate if you can tell me what really the issus is or any specific logs that I can analyze to diagnose the problem.

    The issue happend only after the upgrade to 12.1.5 so either the services that are running in 12.1.4 or earlier versions are changed in 12.1.5 that integrates with SPC and fetches data and report fron SEPM's and displays it into SPC console

    SSO and embedded console for SEPM's is still working in SPC its just that no information nor reports are being displayed.

    What are the supported web browsers for SPC 2.1 ?

    Thanks James for your reply I have now tested it with IE 10,11 but same issue.

    Is there could be any reason regarding service accounts becuase they are changed in SEPM 12.1.5 that is causing this information not to display but at the same time causing SSO and embedded console to work ? 

    This thing is a bit confusing . I have even tried to remove couple of SEPM's from the SPC console and then to add them back but still it didnt work out. Regards

    Well Brian the envoirement in which I am working is a closed envoirement so can't open up a case with support.

    I thought community will help me to resolve this issue.
