  • 1.  SPE 7.5 - zip file of size 3 GB

    Posted Nov 11, 2014 09:03 AM

    Hi,

I am scanning zip file of size 3 GB. There are two pdf files inside this zip file. Both pdf files are less than 2 GB.

While scanning this file I am getting "INTERNAL_SERVER_ERROR" as file status.

I am not getting any container policy violation error for this.

As per documentation SPE should scan this zip file.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks..

    Hi,

What kind of log output do you get in SPE log file?

BTW, log file name is in the form of SSEyyyymmdd.log under log directory.

Also do you have <MaxExtractFileSize> setting, in filtering.xml file, big enough for the PDF file?

    Regards,

     Haro

    Hi,

The MaxExtractSize setting seems to be fine. BTW, sorry about parameter name being wrong on my part.

Log file does have error event by the AntiVirus engine component within SPE. Here's output from logconverter tool:

Wed Nov 12 23:22:00 JST 2014, The Symantec Protection Engine has encountered a scan error, Event Severity Level = Error, Scanner = AntiVirus, Result ID = 30, File name = D:\testFiles\largeFile_3GB.zip, Client IP = 127.0.0.1, Scan Duration (sec) = 834.148, Connect Duration (sec) = 834.508, Symantec Protection Engine IP address = 192.168.7.102, Symantec Protection Engine Port number = 1344, Uptime (in seconds) = 521527

The "Result ID = 30" part, I don't have information for, as the ID list I have is old and only have numbers up to 29.

In anycase, you should open a support case for the incident.

    Regards,

     Haro

    Hello Haro,

    Thank for the information.

I am using SPE 7.5 trail version for scanning 3 GB file.

I didn't get you on "opening a support case for the incident".

Should I open a new thread in forum specifying ResultId=30?

BTW, which logconverter tool are you using for reading log file?

    Regards,

    Jignesh

Hi, Oh, you don't have a valid license to ask for technical support at Symantec? It is not kind of an error that you could get a solution in community forum. You may need to ask your Symantec SE or Sales representative to help you out. Also, you can try out the newest SPE 7.5.1 version, if you can the module some how. For converting log files, see the blow KB: http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO95284 Regards, Haro
