  • 1.  Speed up managed software delivery

    We have a policy for managed software delivery that checks and installs 8 software titles and works fine generally. What it isn't good at is being quick when we provision a new client, where it goes something like this:

    - Management agent gets installed

    - agent has to initialise, restart a few times - about 15 minutes lost here

    - Policy downloads quickly

    - Policy stays at 'Unknown or not started' for ages. The schedule in the policy says to run every four hours so I guess the worst case is a four hour wait.

    Can any of these be improved with particular settings? i.e. can the policy be told to run immediately if it hasn't run ever before, speeding up the provisioning?

    Add a second schedule with "scheduled time" set to "00:00". This will be treated like a ASAP policy, as the schedule is in the past. (You really need this "Every 4 Hours" schedule?)
