Hi,
I ma trying to backup( Full backup to D2D) Ms SQL 2005 complete databses, includeding Master, Model and MSDB using symantec Exec 2012 , the job completes but it also create a temperory folder of the same size of the database, whihch consume the space in the storage drive . this happens only when i include the master Model and MSDB databases . how to get rid of this ? .
Another issue with Backup Exec 12 is dosent show the exact capacity of tape drive . I ma using LTO 5 tape and its only showing 1.49 TB instead of 3 TB. i have neabled hardware compression both in the tape device and in the job crated . is this a bug with exec 2012?.

Don't forget to give a "Thumbs Up" or Mark as "Solution" if someones advice has helped you.
The 3TB capacity is a marketing thing which assumes a 2:1 compression ratio. This is hardly achievable in real-life. 1.5TB is the true native (uncompressed) capacity of a LTO5 tape, so there is no mistake in the BE GUI.
