Hi,

My environment is 7.1.0.3 and is on windows 2008 platform.

My SQL backups are failing with error code {none of the requested files were backed up(2)}. I have checked the encryption part but all is correct over there.

Getting no clue how to resolve this!!

Kindly suggest!!

hi ,

first place i would look is Details status of the failed job , and dbclient log in client.

please post both of them..

If you have failures then on the SQL client under \netbackup\logs\ will be a mssql_backup_failures directory

The SQL client creates this when a failure ocurrs

The log files in there will tell us why the backups fail

If you create the dbclient folder in that logs directory as well we will have even more information to work on

Take a look and post the logs on here as attachments so that we can take a look

We may also need a bpcd log too so create the bpcd folder under logs on the client as well and send the log from there after the next failure

In this situation there are some basic settings that have to be checked first:

1- is the path to the .bch script specified in the SQL policy reflect the actual path of the script in the SQL machine ?

2- is the .bch script correct ? Open it with any text editor to check for errors.

3- is the SQL service started on the target machine ? - don't laugh at this one, we all fall into this trap someday- !

4- do manual backups initiated from the DBBackup interface works ?
