I got the nest error on different sql servers (w2000, sql 7 & 8 ):

AOFO: Initialization failure on: "\\SERVER\C:". Advanced Open File Option used: VERITAS Volume Snapshot Provider (VSP).
AOFO: Unable to get minimum quiet time for physical volumes. Reduce the activity on these volumes, or wait and run the backup when there is less activity on the volumes.
AOFO: VERITAS Snapshot Provider (VSP) snapshot cache file settings for volume "C:" : Initial: 0 MB. Maximum: 1039 MB. File: "\\?\Volume{02789869-700d-11d7-b5f1-806d6172696f}\Backup Exec AOFO Store\_BEVspCacheFile_11.VSP".
AOFO: VERITAS Snapshot Provider (VSP) snapshot settings used: Quiet Time: 5 seconds. Time Out: 2000 seconds.

It is not a busy time, not for network or server.
Any ideas?

In my experience with V10, SQL Server will never be quiet enough for OFO. SQL Server is always active. If you can't get the BEX SQL agent (and even if you can) consider using SQL Server to back up the database files and then copy the backed up files to tape.

I've never had a failure restoring a SQL backup file. I've never had a satisfactory restore of a db using BEX without the SQL agent.
