The reporting service is the SQL Server Analysis server (also formally referred to as OLAP), correct? If so, the SQL 2008 Configuration Wizard supports this using the VCS "GenericService" agent.

As for documentation, you would install the SQL Analysis instance during installation of a SQL instance following the installation instructions in the "Veritas Storage Foundation and High Availability Solutions 5.1 SP2 HA and Disaster Recovery Solutions Guide for Microsoft SQL 2008" guide:

https://sort.symantec.com/public/documents/sfha/5.1sp2/windows/productguides/pdf/SFW_HA_DR_SQL2008_Solutions_51SP2.pdf

I have installed this many times before with other instances and it works without issue. The only thing I am unsure of is If the VCS SQL 2008 Configuration Wizard detects this without another SQL instance. I would suggest you test this on a lab server first to see if it will or not. If it does not, you would simply create the service group manually which is a simple task, but takes a little longer than using the wizard.

Please let me know if this helps or if you have additional questions.

Thank you,

Daniel
