SQL Script to show the top 100 most accessed files by FSA ?

Created: 29 Jun 2014 | 9 comments

Hi people,

Can anyone please share the SQL script (if any) which shows the top 100 most accessed archived files size and location in the file serve ?

Or any other means by EV report utility to achieve the same thing.

Thanks

Do you have auditing enabled?  If yes, it might be possible but if not SQL won't help you as that would be logged in the IIS Logs, not SQL.

Where do I have to enable the logging ?

if that is the case then I missed all of those action for the past 3 years :-/ not enabling them since I've upgraded to EV 9.0.4

You would follow these steps:

Creating the auditing database

Configuring auditing

Hi John,

I think that these two reports will provide you with that information:

  • Archived Items Access
  • Archived Items Access Trends

Take a look at this technote:

The Enterprise Vault Reporting operation reports
http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO56492

“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.”–Winston Churchill

And they both require Auditing:

Note:

This report does not have any data to process if Enterprise Vault auditing is disabled. Auditing may be enabled from the Administration Console

thanks All, does in this case I need to provision another SQL database to hold this information ?

when you enable auditing in EV it'll take care of the rest (assuming your EV service account still has the right permissions in SQL)
