I know that SQL 2008 R2 is not supported by 6.5.6 but someone has managed to make the backup / restore of a clustered SQL 2008 R2 on top of Windows 2008 R2?

Best regards!

Vortec,

I doubt anyone has got this to work or tested this since SQL 2008 R2 on Windows 20081 R2 will be supported from netbackup 7.0.1

See support matrix for netbackup 7.0.1.

I agree with Oddy, If you do get it to work it might not be reliable and you could run into problems at restore time. Your best bet is to use SQL native backup to backup to Flat files for now then Backup those using a File System Policy until you are able to upgrade to the supported version 7.0.1
