  • 1.  SQL Server 2008 Standard or Enterprise for Altiris 7.5?

I've read the implementation guide but I'm unclear as to whether Standard or Enterprise SQL Server 2008 should be used?? Thanks everyone.

The Notification Server computer installation is tested with Microsoft SQL

Express, Standard, and Enterprise versions x86 and 64-bit. Using a 64-bit OS in

combination with an x64 version of SQL Server is highly recommended for dedicated

SQL servers that have more than 4GB of physical memory to take advantage of

the memory addressing capabilities of 64-bit hardware. For additional information,

In the ITMS Implementation guide, for 10,000 to 20,000 endpoints, the recommendation is below. What confuses me is if the Enterprise reference relates to all versions listed or if it only refers to 2012.

Not immediately sure why Enterprise would be suggested for SQL 2012, Standard will support up to 4 sockets/16 cores and 64GB RAM:
