SQL Server migration for EV 10.0.1

Hi,

Does anyone knows the process for migrating Enterprise Vault SQL databases from old server to a new server for increased capacity and moving to 64bit OS for SQL please?

Basically currently we have EV databases on a SQL server - windows 2003 32bit OS and SQL 2005

We would like to move those databases to a new SQL server windows 2008 R2 - SQL 2008

Please let us know the steps and any concerns that we need to keep in mind?

One vital note from the technote that Amol pointed out.

  • Make sure the collation set on the New SQL server is EXACTLY the same as set on the Old SQL server, or there will be collation mismatches.

This will cause major/critical errors if they don't match and it will be messy.
