Hello everyone , I intend to use SEPM Server 12.1.6 in HA on 2 servers with a SQL database. total clients are 3,000 . I would be using 90 content revisions on SEPM with 60 days log retention. Would really appreciate what specification am I required for a standalone SQL Server .

    1) What Hardware specification lilke RAM , GB , CPU would be recommended if go with a standalone SQL Server.

    2) I also have a production SQL server in my customer network , I have also asked them that they can also allocate us an instance on the production SQL server . Now the DBA has asked me for the specification that I require like RAM , CPU and Hard Disk for this instance . Could you please share with me the pre-requsites and specifications that I need to share with him so that he can provision the instance for us.

    Thanks and Regards,

This is for the System , 4 core 8GB of RAM should be plenty

thanks for your reply rafeeq. Can you please tell me the pre-reqs in case if we require an instance on the production SQL server. Basically I need to tell my DBA what kind of specification/requirement do I have so that he can provision me an instance for SEPM Database on the production SQL server accordinly. Thanks

DB is already hosted on the SQL box, with necessary hardware specs, You just ask them to give you a named instanace or you can use the default instance symantec creates its called SEM5.

    Go with the default instance

You need the SQL server name, and user name which has access to that instance.

    give them this doc
