  • 1.  SQL(already a open data reader associated) error when trying to create advertisement item

    Hi all,

    I am using Altiris ASDK (vbs).

    I am trying to create an advertisement item so that my package can be advertised and i can see the status of the task. But i am getting following error when i try calling createAdvertisementEX( ) method.

    "   Altiris.NS.Exception.AeXException - Unable to create the advertisement item -> System.InvalidOperationException: There is already an open DataReader associated with this command and must be closed first  "

     

    Restarting SQL service succeeded only once but afterwards, restarting the computer or SQL server nothing helped.

     

    Would really appreciate any help and suggestions,

    Hi everyone

    just an update for others who happen to read the post.

    I couldn't find any solution to solve the problem, actually there are couple of suggestions if you google but nothing worked for me. so i reinstalled the SQL database and configured it to work with Altiris console. As a result the error was gone.

    I see the same issue, and breaking my heads to get it resolved. This would save a lots of effort here if we can automate the process of creating advertisement. Any experts out there to help us??
