SSIM 4.6 Supported Hardware

Created: 10 Jul 2008 • Updated: 22 May 2010 | 1 comment

From the supported hardware list, I've read that SSIM 4.6 is certified to be installed on only HP & Dell?  Can my client use the IBM System X (Intel platform) instead?  If not, is there any reason why other brands has not been certified/supported?  Thanks.

Other hardware platforms have not been certified, due to the amount of time it takes to do this.  SSIM is a very complex product, and for each platform, you would need many weeks to test and certify.

That said, we have tested Dell and HP Platforms as you suggested.

SSIM should run fine on other platforms that:

1.  Have 4GB of RAM or more

2.  Be fully Red Hat 4 certified

3.  Have a 250GB hard disk space.
