[SSIM] Collecting Events from IBM DataPower (WebSphere) XI50

Created: 11 Mar 2013 | 3 comments

Can you help me in configuring data collection with SSIM (4.7) from DataPower appliance (9235)?

Which of the following solutions should I choose for collecting data?

1. "SYMC Event Collector for IBM WebSphere Application Server V6 3.5"

(considering that IBM acquired DataPower years ago and integrated it as "WebSphere product", even if in appliance shape)

2. "Universal Syslog Event Collector", having previously erformed the following actions:

2.a correctly configured the IBM appliance

2.b configured Syslog Director (see Appendix C, Universal_44.pdf)

2.c mapped the Events (see Appendix D, table D-5, Universal_44.pdf)

Could help me?

Thank you Very much in advance

Hi,

confirm that  DataPower appliance (9235) is currently configured to send directly logs to remote system. It sends it using syslog

Thank you

Hi pottolino,

I have collector for websphere.

But i dont have idea to configure wabsphere so that it can send logs at remote computer.

As listed above you have configured websphere to send logs to remote system.

It will really helpful for me if you can share your implementation plan at websphere.
