SSIM Products Field Disappear After Upgrade

Hi,

We have some problem with the SSIM 4.7.4 Security Patch 6 and Security Patch 7. We recognized that after a success upgrade from 4.7.4 SP4 to 4.7.4 SP6, some products disappear at the filter at the all events template. Because of this fault we cannot filter events based on the product field, because it seems that only on-box collectors are working properly. If we search manually for a Windows event then we see the Product ID (3301) instead of the name of the Product, and then we can filter events based on that. But in the Product list there is no MS Windows Product name or ID.

We tried the upgrade in the following ways:

- SP4 to SP6

- SP5 to SP6

- SP5 to SP7

- SP6 to SP7

with the same result. SP7 upgrade don't solve the issue, if we upgrade directly to SP7 the same issue appears.

Does anybody else recognize this problem?

Hi Laszlo,

 

 Just to be sure, are you talking about Security Patch (SP) or just Patch ? (We only released SP until SP5.)

Could you post the following queries (you can run advanced SQL query in GUI):

 

SELECT * FROM SYMCMGMT.LOCALE_DEF

and

SELECT * FROM SYMCMGMT.PRODUCT_DEF

 

You should have an entry for 3301

Hi,

I checked the queries and there weren't any entries for the installed collectors. A tested it with a restored SSIM which runs on 4.7.4. SP5 so maybe the problem is not with the SP6 or SP7. Is it possible that the restore procedure of the 4.7.4 SP5 version fails to restore this two table (Product Locale).

The other SSIM where I met this issues was similar to this one because in that case we worked with a restored 4.7.4 SP5 version.

We tested the restore with version 4.7.4. SP4, 4.7.4 SP5 and we realized that the problem exists in every version. Is it possible to manual refill the locale and product table? Does anybody else met this problem before?

re-register the collectors via the web-ui

Yes, thats probably solve the problem but in that case we have to save all of our configuation and after that create them again. I don't think this is the best way to solve this issue.
