Hi All,

I created a new report by inserting a query in tabular format in SSIM 4.5. But problem is that i cant find any option to edit the table (i.e. add/delete a column).

As per SSIM 4.5 User's guide, after u insert the query in the report, double-click the query icon in the body of the report (On the Design Tab) to get the "Edit Option".......But I cant find the same.

If anybody hv any experience on this .....Plz revert back to me.

Regards,
neil

To edit a query in a report, double-click the query.

If that does not work, please update to the latest release.  This is a known issue in older 4.5 versions of the software.

As of this writing, the current release of 4.5 is Maintenance Release 2 (MR2) and Hotfix 8.

Hi Rob,

I have some simple queries on MR2 update...

  • Do I need to install that patch on all the collectors?
  • How much time it takes for the installation?
  • Is there any known issues with the MR2 installation???

If so..then plz fwd some cases wid examples...

Regards,
neil

MR2 is to be installed on all SSIM appliances.  Please view the readme to ensure you meet all prerequisites before installing.

When installing, install MR2 on the Directory appliance first.

The MR2 Install should be less than 30 minutes per appliance and will require a restart of the appliance when done.

If you want to add or remove a column in a query you can open the query and at the top right side of the screen you will see a button labeled columns.  You can add or remove any columns you want from there.  You must save the changes in My Queries with another name for this to be a permanent change

Thnx...Peaslee..

I hv already tried this with the queries and hv no issues. I m concerned about the reporting part.

When I m inserting a customized query(with desired columns) into the report and generating the report, it's generating the report with all the Default columns...not as per my customized query.

hope u got my point...any solution to this???plz....do reply me...

When you insert any query into a report, it will use default columns, not the columns that you have selected in the query.

Sorry, did not finish last response:

When you insert any query into a report, it will use default columns, not the columns that you have selected in the query.

To select columns, first insert the query into the report.  Then double-click the Query to bring up the editor.  Here you can select what columns to insert and what order they should be in.

If you double-click the query and nothing happens, ensure you have upgraded to the latest version.   Currently, this is MR2 with Hotfix 8.

Hello,

When you create new report, export it to a *.rml file and then directly edit this file and set only these columns that you want to see. At the end import modified rml file back to SSIM and it should be OK.
