SSL Cert as an Asset associated to a server asset
I would like to track an SSL certificate as a Asset. The SSL expires in 3 years and I would like to get a notification on the expiring asset. I have created the SSL Certificate as a Win32 License, so I think this will provide the notification I would like. The piece I am srtuggleing with is I would like to associate the SSL Certificate with a particular Server asset. When I look at associating an asset from a list of assets it only shows Hardware assets, software licenses are not in the drop down list of choices.
The goal: I would like to track my SSL certificates and have the SSL asset associated to the server asset it is installed on.
Thanks for any advice.
You could creating a User
You could creating a User Defined Resource Association Type.
Then edit the "Win32 Resource Type" and add the association you just created.
User Defined Resource
Thanks for the input. I would have to map this out and see how the new association would be seen by the hardware server asset. It might get me going in the right direction though.
Thanks,
Todd
