Hi,

We have an intermittant problem with a fully patched BE 2012 on SBS 2011.

We do a full backup every night to Ultrium 5 tape.

Usaually once a week we get the following error.

(Server: "SBS2011") (Job: "Full Server Backup-Full") Full Server Backup-Full -- The job failed with the following error: The volume that is used for the staging location must be a writable NTFS volume that is local to the Backup Exec server. Also, the volume must not be shared through Distributed File System. See the job log for more details.

There is only one drive in the server C: and it is NTFS and local and not shared through DFS ?

I would expect maybe an error like this is we where performing a restore but not a backup.

Any ideas

Many thanks

Hi,

Have you tried to recreate the job?

Thanks!

It could be that there is not enough free space on your C: drive.  You might want to get another disk and change the staging from C: drive to the other disk using the procedure described in this comment

Check Windows Events for errors during the time the job ran in.
